Results of Community Input on the Three Sites Coming Soon!
Thank you to the residents of Golden Valley who shared their thoughts and ideas on the three sites considered for this project. Results of the online survey, online open house, and virtual design events will be shared here by early February 2021.
Engagement on Potential Housing Sites
The City of Golden Valley is working to address the need for affordable housing in the city and has identified eight publicly owned sites that could potentially host affordable housing in the future. These parcels are mostly remnants from the construction of highways and are now vacant. There are no current plans for the sites and no developers are involved.
Three of the eight sites are prioritized for study and the City of Golden Valley wants the community to help set the vision for what type of housing might be located at each. In the years ahead, when the city selects a plan and developer for each site, it will be based on your ideas and priorities.
In Fall 2020, the City hosted three virtual engagement activities to gather input on the three sites and ideas to shape Housing Design Concepts for each location. The results will be posted here in early 2021. Golden Valley residents will then be invited to comment on the design concepts, and those comments will be included as part of the overall community guidance for each site. The city will use that guidance as the foundation and vision for each site’s future.

Due to Covid concerns, all engagement activities were hosted online in September and October 2020. Each of the activities, as originally advertised, are below.
